Sifu Brian Korty

While growing up as a child in rural Pennsylvania, Sifu Brian always had a strong desire to study martial arts. His first opportunity to do so came when a Tae Kwon Do school open near his hometown where he attended his first class in 1987 and took classes continuously until 1990.

In 1998, Sifu Brian decided to resume his martial arts instructions while attending graduate school in Philadelphia. At that time, he began learning the T'ien Shan P'ai system of Chinese martial arts under Sifu Jamal El.

Through Sifu Jamal, Sifu Brian was introduced to Sigung Norman Smith and eventually became a part of the Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi Academy family. Sifu Brian continues his study in T'ien Shan P'ai, Yang Style Tai-Chi Chuan, Prey-Mantis and other various Northern Chinese martial arts to this day.

Sifu Brian may be seen competing in major Regional and International Tournaments where he often places in forms, weapons and fighting events.
